At the end of November, during a two-day plant shutdown, four new drives were successfully commissioned at the rolling mill of VINTON STEEL (part of KYOEI STEEL Group) in Texas, USA. The SIME team worked tirelessly with dedication and precision to achieve this important goal and meet the client’s needs.
The supply included:
- No. 2 switchboards with ABB DCS880 2Q drives 3000A and 4Q exciter for the two Finishing Stands;
- No. 1 switchboard with a regenerative ABB ACS880 inverter 27A, 11kW motor, electromagnetic drum brake, and encoder for the Kick-off;
- No. 1 switchboard with an ABB ACS880 inverter and 22kW motor for the Coielr (under finalization).
A special thank you to our technicians Lorenzo and Samuel, who worked intensively on-site, and to Adriano, who provided remote support for the challenging commissioning process.
Our heartfelt gratitude also goes to our client, especially to Luis, Orlando, and Ruben, who supported us with extraordinary availability, day and night. This enduring collaboration, established 30 years ago, is based on mutual respect, trust, and genuine humanity—qualities we deeply appreciate, and which are fundamental to the success of every project.
