In 2020 SIME accomplished the supply and remote commissioning of the Motor Control Center to control 3 pumps 350HP 460V 389A in a rolling mill in Texas.

SIME faced multiple challenges: switchboard reduced dimensions due to electrical cabinet limited space; production time of less than 1 month; performing the start-up during COVID-19 pandemic. As per the last issue, the 3 ABB AC880 drives (414A – 500V) were connected to the network via the Ethernet adapter module, and the remote connection was performed via the industrial VPN gateway HMS Networks Ewon Cosy. A smart way to perform the start-up guaranteeing the assistance to its customers worldwide during unprecedented times.
